2024 Angel Tree Program
Our 2024 Angel Tree Program was a success!!!
The Angel Trees were filled with gift tags for Hope & Home, Lutheran Family Services and Calhan Schools (newly added this year as we see that the children in Calhan and surrounding areas are in great need of Christmas Cheer).
The 2024 Angel Tree Program has ended. We had trees up at the State Bank, Farmers State Bank, Pikes Peak Library District - High Prairie Library, Antler Creek Golf Course, Falcon Walmart and in Colorado Springs we have two trees - one at American Insurance Exchange and the MITRE Corporation office building in Colorado Springs.
Overall, the toys we gathered were 300 less than last year. As far as gift card tags, that was low as well. The total for the gift cards was about $3,000.00 less than last year. The final totals for 2024 was $7,285.00 in gift cards and the toys was 414. However, after you read below our actual DOLLAR total was $12,285.00.
We have to give out a huge Thank You to the "Dammann Family Fund of Pikes Peak Community Foundation". The American Insurance Exchange (we had an Angel Tree at their place in the Wells Fargo Bank off of Platte and Circle) agents let us know that Deborah Mirkovich and her husband wanted to provide a $5,000 grant to our Angel Tree Program through the Dammann Family Fund. This grant is an addition to the $7,285.00 of gift cards so that actually raised our donation total to $12,285.00, which is awesome since the gift tags received were low this year.
In addition, we have to say Thank You to the Rector Stuzinsky Law Firm (https://rectorlawfirm.com/) (offices on S Weber and Barnes Road) who helped immensely in reaching our numbers. The Law Firm "emptied" the Angel Tree at the Antler Creek Golf Club TWICE. With their very generous support they provided $2,050.00 in gift cards and 51 toys, which was almost 1/3 of the gift cards received from all of our locations.
The agencies/locations that were in receipt of these gift cards/toys were Hope & Home Foster Care, Lutheran Family Services and Calhan Schools (the Calhan Schools was an addition this year to help the school children in the rural areas).
Overall, we were happy with the support of the Falcon Community in their response to our 2024 Angel Tree Program. We will do it again next year.
Thanks again from the Exchange Club of Falcon, Theresa Koveleski - lead for the Angel Tree Program!!!
The Exchange Club of Falcon received a very generous grant to support our Angel Tree Program 2024. Our Angel Tree lead, Theresa Koveleski was working with American Insurance Exchange (AIE) (one of the Angel Tree locations the Exchange Club of Falcon works with) and was told about a foundation wanting to make a donation to our Angel Tree Program 2024. Jaromie/AIE provided us with a Point of Contact (POC) to work the donation. After speaking to Deborah Mirkovich our club received a $5,000 grant from the "Dammann Family Fund of Pikes Peak Community Foundation" to be used for our Angel Tree Program.
The Exchange Club of Falcon split this grant in half by providing $2,500 to Hope & Home Foster Care Agency (Middle Photo above) and $2,500 given to Lutheran Family Services (LFS) (Left Photo above) to support their Foster Care program. Both of these agencies train, actively support foster parents and provide skilled, caring substitute families for children unable to live with their birth families.
The Exchange Club of Falcon has never received a grant for this amount, so we feel blessed that Deborah and Craig Mirkovich selected the Exchange Club of Falcon Angel Tree 2024 Program to receive this funding. Both of the organizations were already given their funds and they were "over the top" excited about getting this surprise gift.
Thank you to the Dammann Foundation for this very generous gift to support our foster care programs in Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
We had a GREAT surprise today (Dec 18, 2024) at the Antler Tree Golf Course this morning when Theresa went by to do a random pick up gifts for our Angel Tree Program.
We have an Angel Tree at the Antlers Creek Golf Course (in Falcon Colorado) and due to the cold and snowy weather this year, our tags weren't going too well as the golfer traffic was low to take tags. However, our club did a pick up today (18 Dec 24) and surprised there were no tags on the tree. We came to find out that a paralegal who works for the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm saw the tree filled with tags and worked with the firm to fill ALL of the tags.
The Rector Stuzynski Law Firm filled 54 Gift Card Tags for a total of $1,500.00 and 20 toys for Hope & Home Foster Care and Calhan Schools (Right Photo above). Their support to our Angel Tree Program was a GREAT surprise and their thoughtfulness to help Foster Care and rural areas in/near Calhan to those students is Outstanding!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm for coming through for us to provide an awesome Christmas to our children.
We have to individually acknowledge the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm for their generosity. They recently opened a new location at 6045 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922 and their other location is 131 S. Weber St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
Our 2024 Angel Tree Program ends on Thursday, Dec 19, 2024. We will do pickups from our 5 locations on Dec 20, 2024 and Dec 23, 2024 and deliver the toys/gift cards to their respective organizations before Christmas. We have had many surprise donations this year so stay tuned for more great news like this.
Donations from our 15th Annual Craft Fair held Oct 2024
We finally had the opportunity to take our donations to the great organizations here in El Paso County. These donations were made from the funds we made for the 15th Annual Falcon Craft Fair from October 2024. We made donations to Mt Carmel Veterans Center (left photo), to Eastern Plains Community Pantry (middle photo), Safe Passage and Kidpower of Colorado (right photo) and Rocky Mountain Inclusive Connections (not pictured). We raised $8,500.00 in our event and the monies were spread out among these great organizations.

15th Annual Falcon Craft Fair - October 5th and 6th, 2024 at Falcon High School
The Exchange Club of Falcon hosted our 15th Annual Falcon Craft Fair on October 5th and 6th, 2024 at the Falcon High School.
Finally getting around to posting about our Successful 15th Annual Falcon Craft Fair that was held on Oct 5 and 6, 2024 at the Falcon High School. We want to thank our sponsors who provided Donuts (Wal-Mart) and Starbucks Coffee (King Soopers Starbucks) for Saturday Morning setup for our vendors.
Our show was awesome. Great turnout. We had over 90 vendors and more than1,400 shoppers attend this year's craft show between the two days. We collected 274.5 pounds of non-perishable and dried foods and 87 coats/blankets/hoodies for the Eastern Plains Community Pantry. We also collected 90 pounds of non-perishable and dried foods and 28 coats/blankets for Mt Carmel Veterans Service Center.
All of the monies made from the vendor booth fees, silent auctions, Exchange Club Table and Donation Can are being donated back to several agencies here in the El Paso County. The agencies to get funds are Eastern Plains Community Pantry, Mt Carmel Veterans Service Center, Rocky Mountain Inclusive Connections (RMIC), Safe Passage and KidPower of Colorado.
The Exchange Club of Falcon is happy to put on this annual event to raise money to give back to the community. Our club has four Areas of Impact: Prevention of Child Abuse (National Project), Community, Americanism and Youth Projects. We are always looking for new members to help us get the word out and help our community. Contact Don K at 719-369-5158 or Andy C at 719-337-6990.
Our organization supports other local activities which include Child Abuse Prevention (our National Project), Americanism, Youth Recognition and Community Support activities. The funds raised are used to support all our programs. In the case of Child Abuse Prevention, we support organizations and agencies that participate in child abuse prevention and intervention, such as CASA, TESSA, DHS, Hope and Home, and Lutheran Family Services to name a few. We also recognize outstanding youth and those who have overcome adversity to excel with scholarship programs that include local club level, District level and National level competition. Give-A-Kid-A-Flag is one of the things we do in our Americanism program at 4th of July and Veterans Day parades during the year as well as installation of Freedom Shrines in public buildings and schools. Our Community Support program includes recognition of first responders, teachers, and a helping hand to Veterans in nursing homes as well as other projects.
Donations to the Calhan Schools Arts Programs (Aug/Sep 2024)
Calhan Schools received several donations in Aug/Sep 2024 for their school arts programs (Wood Shop and Band).
The Exchange Club of Falcon worked with Lowe's North Colorado Springs and the Home Depot on getting two 1/4 sheet palm sanders, two 5-inch variable speed sanders, three cordless Drill/driver kits, a 50-piece driver set, and 15-piece Drill bits. Marv Hart/Exchange Club member donated 4 new boxes of Driver bits and one new box of Drill Bits for the new Wood Shop was just created this school year (left photo).
