Welcome to the Exchange Club of Falcon

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit (EIN# 264323337) established to serve El Paso County including Colorado Springs.

Our club was chartered in November, 2006 as part of the National Exchange Club (NEC), a service club comprised of 700 clubs nation-wide with 22,000 members.  The club was started by Lt Col (Ret) Joseph L. Bauer as a Club Builder. Initially the Exchange Club of Falcon met in a coffee shop in Black Forest.  Later we were designated as a supper club and met at the Latigo Grill.  Currently, our club meets at the Falcon Fire Department, Station 3 in Falcon.

Please come to one of our monthly meetings to see what we are about and learn how we help the less fortunate in the El Paso County area.  If you would like more information about our club, please contact our Club President Mr. Don Koveleski at (719) 369-5158 or email at donk@exchangecluboffalcon.com.

2025-2026 Youth of the Year and ACE of the Year Scholarship Program

The Exchange Club of Falcon started our annual scholarship giving program on August 6, 2025. We have two scholarship programs for our seniors in high school. We honor students of the month (in both categories) and then an annual scholarship winner (in both categories).

One scholarship is the A.C.E. Award (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence) where we honor high school students who have made a dramatic turnaround in their attitude, performance, and future outlook during their high school years.

The second scholarship is the Youth Award where the selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, school activities, and community service.

Several club members (Darlene Bigham, Linda Ludwig, Don and Theresa Koveleski) met with a Falcon High School Guidance Counselor (Nicole Garcia) - wish we had taken a picture. We discussed our program with Nicole on how we select ACE of the Month and Youth of the Month Seniors. These monthly winners (and parents/guardians) are treated with a breakfast and the student is presented a certificate and a gift card. The monthly award winners are then provided the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. The applications are reviewed by the Exchange Club of Falcon Youth Committee and one student in the ACE and Youth categories is awarded a scholarship at our local level. Their Youth of the Year package is then sent to the Four Corners District Youth Scholarship committee to compete for a scholarship at the District Level. Winners of the district are then competing at our National Exchange Club level for a $15,000.00 Scholarship.

We look forward to working with Nicole and other school officials at the Falcon High School District 49 on nominating students to our club for the Monthly Awards and the chance to win a scholarship for ACE of the Year and Youth of the Year.

UPDATE from Nov 19, 2025.  We met with Guidance Counselor Kim Vanvalkenburg/Guidance Counselor at the Patriot Applied Learning Campus this week and talked to her about our scholarship program that we are doing with Falcon High School. We are happy to say that Patriot Applied Learning Campus will be part of our program for the last few months for this school year. They are joining in late, but we are happy to have them be a part of our program and increase the competition within the D49 Falcon Zone. Thank you to Cari Muresan/D49 Food Pantry for the suggestion.

For more information about our program or to be involved in our club please contact Don K at (719) 369-5158.

2nd Annual Murder Mystery FUN-draiser (Exact Date/Location is TBD)

Our next major event and fundraiser will be our 2nd Annul Murder Mystery Fundraiser.  This one will be held in May of 2026.  Last year we had our first one in February and the weather wasn't cooperating with our event, so we are moving it to later in the year.
Stay tuned for the dates and location

The Exchange Club of Falcon received a very generous grant to support our Angel Tree Program 2024. Our Angel Tree lead, Theresa Koveleski was working with American Insurance Exchange (AIE) (one of the Angel Tree locations the Exchange Club of Falcon works with) and was told about a foundation wanting to make a donation to our Angel Tree Program 2024. Jaromie/AIE provided us with a Point of Contact (POC) to work the donation. After speaking to Deborah Mirkovich our club received a $5,000 grant from the "Dammann Family Fund of Pikes Peak Community Foundation" to be used for our Angel Tree Program.
The Exchange Club of Falcon split this grant in half by providing $2,500 to Hope & Home Foster Care Agency (Middle Photo above) and $2,500 given to Lutheran Family Services (LFS) (Left Photo above) to support their Foster Care program. Both of these agencies train, actively support foster parents and provide skilled, caring substitute families for children unable to live with their birth families.
The Exchange Club of Falcon has never received a grant for this amount, so we feel blessed that Deborah and Craig Mirkovich selected the Exchange Club of Falcon Angel Tree 2024 Program to receive this funding. Both of the organizations were already given their funds and they were "over the top" excited about getting this surprise gift.
Thank you to the Dammann Foundation for this very generous gift to support our foster care programs in Colorado Springs and El Paso County.
We had a GREAT surprise today (Dec 18, 2024) at the Antler Tree Golf Course this morning when Theresa went by to do a random pick up gifts for our Angel Tree Program.
We have an Angel Tree at the Antlers Creek Golf Course (in Falcon Colorado) and due to the cold and snowy weather this year, our tags weren't going too well as the golfer traffic was low to take tags. However, our club did a pick up today (18 Dec 24) and surprised there were no tags on the tree. We came to find out that a paralegal who works for the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm saw the tree filled with tags and worked with the firm to fill ALL of the tags.
The Rector Stuzynski Law Firm filled 54 Gift Card Tags for a total of $1,500.00 and 20 toys for Hope & Home Foster Care and Calhan Schools (Right Photo above). Their support to our Angel Tree Program was a GREAT surprise and their thoughtfulness to help Foster Care and rural areas in/near Calhan to those students is Outstanding!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm for coming through for us to provide an awesome Christmas to our children.

We have to individually acknowledge the Rector Stuzynski Law Firm for their generosity. They recently opened a new location at 6045 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80922 and their other location is 131 S. Weber St., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
Our 2024 Angel Tree Program ends on Thursday, Dec 19, 2024. We will do pickups from our 5 locations on Dec 20, 2024 and Dec 23, 2024 and deliver the toys/gift cards to their respective organizations before Christmas. We have had many surprise donations this year so stay tuned for more great news like this.

The Exchange Club of Falcon is happy to put on this annual event to raise money to give back to the community. Our club has four Areas of Impact: Prevention of Child Abuse (National Project), Community, Americanism and Youth Projects. We are always looking for new members to help us get the word out and help our community. Contact Don K at 719-369-5158 or Andy C at 719-337-6990.

Our organization supports other local activities which include Child Abuse Prevention (our National Project), Americanism, Youth Recognition and Community Support activities. The funds raised are used to support all our programs. In the case of Child Abuse Prevention, we support organizations and agencies that participate in child abuse prevention and intervention, such as CASA, TESSA, DHS, Hope and Home, and Lutheran Family Services to name a few.  We also recognize outstanding youth and those who have overcome adversity to excel with scholarship programs that include local club level, District level and National level competition.  Give-A-Kid-A-Flag is one of the things we do in our Americanism program at 4th of July and Veterans Day parades during the year as well as installation of Freedom Shrines in public buildings and schools.  Our Community Support program includes recognition of first responders, teachers, and a helping hand to Veterans in nursing homes as well as other projects.
